Public Administration Program

PROGRAM INTRODUCTION: 

  • Starting from 1998 “Public administration management” professionals were prepared in Industrial Technology Department (by the name of that time) of School of Computer Science and Management of MUST, based on the order number 84 of 1996 of the Minister of Education, Culture, and Science. 

  • Today, the program holds Bachelor, Master, and Doctor (Ph. D) programs in “Public administration” (the program name was changed to “Public administration” by the statement number A/52 of 2017 of Minister of Education, Culture, and Science) according to the order number A/78 and A/370 of the 12th of September, 2014 of the Minister of Education and Science and the order number A/123 of 2014 of the Rector of MUST.

  • Bachelor for Public administration (D041303)

Completion period: 3,5-4 years 

Credit hours: 121 cr 

  • Master for Public administration (Е04130301) 

  • Public administration (Master of research, professional master)

  • Public administration management (Master of research)

  • Local governance (Master of research)

Course form: Day

Completion period: 1,5-2 жил 

Credit hours: Master of research - 34 cr, professional master – 36 cr 

  • Doctor of Public administration (F04130301) 

Course form: Day, correspondence course

Completion period: 3-4 years 

Credit hours: 60 cr 

 

PROGRAM PURPOSE:

Rooting on the master purpose “… to create and develop humanitarian, civil democratic society in our country” of the Constitution of Mongolia, the program purpose resides in preparing high educated professionals, who possess knowledge of public policy, theory, and methods; and wide range of knowledge and practical skills of public office and public service. 

 

PROFESSIONAL DEFINITION OF PROGRAM: 

Preparing Public Administration professionals who are professionally ethical, responsible, and proficient in communication skills; also, who possess all the planned program contents, diverse knowledge and skills of social, legislative, and management science; and, who are able to identify and formulate public administration problems, to develop strategic plans, to organize their implementations, to apply legislative norms, and to make solutions and executions.

Public administration professionals shall obtain skills to manage, organize, plan, control, lead, process policy documents, analyze problems, and to make proper solutions to them.
