Department of Social Sciences

Social Science branch was established in 2014 with professor teams of Politics and Public Relations, and Social Work from School of Social Technology, and Public Administration program of School of Computer Technic and Management. The branch aims to become leading national branch and strong competitor in theoretical and applied studies of Social Sciences, such as Politics, Psychology, Sociology, and Law, as well as Social Security, Public Administration, and Public Relations.

At the moment, the branch holds three professional programs with 292 students, 22 instructors, 1 assistant worker, and 1 program master. 57,6% of total instructors are of high academic degrees: one Doctor of Science (Sc. Dr), four Associate Professors, 15 Doctors (Ph. D). And among these instructors, 40% have obtained their academic degrees in different countries, such as South Korea, Russia, Bulgaria, Japan, and China. 
Social Science branch operates “Karitas information center” of Social Work program, which is an open library for Social Work students from all the universities in the country. In addition, starting from 2015, the Psychology program instructors have been working as a team in the “Psychological center” of MUST, doing psychological counseling and psychodiagnosis, trainings, and researches.

Social Science branch cooperates with different universities from abroad contracting with them in trainings and researches to implement in the professional programs. To name some of them:

  • School of Mongolian Studies, Inner Mongolia, China

More than 50 students, who study in the professional programs of Social Science branch, have participated in professional practicums at Chuson University and Songdo group of South Korea, for the last three years according to the contracts the branch is implementing.
